Art at St Andrew's
Over the last few years St Andrew's has become well known for hosting innovative art projects.
Tuscany by Ryszard Rybicki
Our first exhibition featured local artist Ryszard Rybicki whose exhibition featured images of many local people displayed on the pillars and walls of the church.
Then in 2007 we held the first of our annual Stations of the Cross exhibitions. Each year the church is exploring this theme in a different artistic way.
The first year we commissioned Jonathon Brown, a highly respected Scottish artist based in France who produced huge canvasses with charcoal imagery of the Station as 'from the eyes of Jesus'.

In 2008 we held a competition in conjunction with the Slade School of Fine Art The students at the school competed for a substantial prize and the opportunity to make thier own vision of the Stations.
Aishan Yu's beautiful miniature paintings on found objects were a great success and received much praise in the press [church times piece]. Ideas for next year's exhibition are being explored and we are also in the process of commissioning a new votive candle stand for the Lady Chapel. In the long term we hope to redevelop our buildings and this will lead to a major commission of a new font and altar at the Children's Chapel.
Further art projects of many sorts are possible and we also commission music!
Anna Sikorska, another Slade Shcool student is undertaking the task of creating a new Votive Candle Stand for the church.
