Photo Albums - Pentecost. 27th May 2007.
During the month of May the children of St Andrew's have been placing their prayers on A Tree of Life. Each prayer was written on a card shaped like a leaf and attached to leaves on the tree.
On Sunday during Mass the children took their prayers and attached them to balloons. There was a slight worry that a balloon would be let loose in the church and our worries were well founded as one is now stuck in the rafters.
Any suggestions on how to retrieve it are more than welcome.
After Mass the chidren gathered under the Lych Gate for a prayer and then they
released the balloons with their prayers. The balloons floated up into the heavens.
Then the tree was taken from its pot and planted in the garden. The children put soil around the tree. The Tree of Life now has a permanent place in the gardens of St Andrew's. A reminder not only of the lovely morning we had
but of Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Sprit.
