We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Community Youth Worker who will be responsible for leading and developing our ongoing community youth work project on West Kensington and Gibbs Green Estates (Fulham).
Though run by St Andrew’s Church, the youth project is non-proselytising and is inclusive of all young people in the local area regardless of religion, race, socio-economic background, ability, sexuality or gender. Established in 2016, the project was born out of a vision to engage with and support the local estates, which at the time were earmarked for re-development. Our vision for the project is for the young people of the local community to grow as young citizens, develop new skills and realise their potential to build a bright future.
As the pandemic restrictions ease and things gradually return to normal, we are re-imagining our youth work and the successful applicant will be at the heart of re-shaping the project going forward. The main focus of the work is the Friday evening youth club for children in school year 6 upwards. We provide a safe space for socialising alongside football coaching (outsourced), crafts, games, group activities and support. Additionally, we run 4 trips per year, young leadership development and aspire to run an annual residential.
We are looking for the successful candidate to start in October 2021.
